I’m happy to write that I’m a Cancer Survivor having made it through the terrors of chemo & radiotherapy. The illness has taught me to value life and to live each minute fully. I’m also a professional personal shopper and slave to Uno my elderly, one-eyed pussycat, a family of extremely bright Herring Gulls & most of the bird population of Europe. You may notice a cat theme recurring throughout this blog. In short I adore them. I do love dogs too and it is on my To Do list to adopt a rescue Border Collie.
I’m a lover of all wildlife especially Sharks and Wolves and cannot bear cruelty to any animal. I’m a lifelong fan of Dr Who! Have been since 1723.
The writing thing – I’ve always enjoyed writing. At school I was frequently found still writing in English class long after the bell had sounded as I wanted to find out how my story ended. At that time I was very fond of writing about Pirates and people named Oppenheimer (I don’t know why, I never been bitten by one). After a long career in finance, redundancy found me swearing that I would never work for Corporate UK again or even behind a desk. I actually did end up behind a desk, a very nice one I picked up in a charity shop. From there I’ve been writing Articles, Flash Fiction, Humour, pieces on PussyCats and finally my book, Step Away from the Sofa which was based on a lifetime’s experience of doing daft things.
I’m now working on a new book, fiction this time. The working title is “The Frankenbitches” – definitely not a fluffy bunnies tale, more one of bloody revenge. Watch this space!
